PRHO proudly serves deserving young women of Puerto Rican descent through an education scholarship pageant. To be a participate in this year’s pageant please download the guidelines and application below, all applications are due no later than June 6th, 2008.

MISS PUERTO RICO

Scholarship-based: we offer a $3,000 educational scholarship for candidates of Puerto Rican descent. Monies are given directly to the institution of higher learning.
Ages: candidates have to be between the ages of 15 and 20
Scoring: is based on a research project on a Puerto Rican town, public speaking, cultural costume, and evening gown competition. There is not a swimsuit competition nor are any points awarded for beauty.
Event date & venue: Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites (Elgin, IL).

LITTLE MISS PUERTO RICO

Scholarship-based: we offer a $1,000 educational scholarship for candidates of Puerto Rican descent. Monies are held in a Section 529 college savings plan.
Ages: candidates have to be between the ages of 10 and 14
Scoring: is based on a research project on a Puerto Rican town, public speaking, cultural costume, and evening gown competition. There is not a swimsuit competition nor are any points awarded for beauty.
